Experienced Melbourne Counsellors for Adults

Support for adults who need a helping hand

Hi, I’m Kate Harrison – a registered adult counsellor, based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Whether you’re feeling anxious, depressed, lost your sense of self, feel disconnected from your partner or want to make a deliberate change in your behaviour, help is at hand.

I will listen, support and empower you with lifelong wellbeing skills to help you connect with yourself, with others and the life you want to live.

I offer face-to-face adult counselling, couples counselling, behavioural change coaching and couples connection coaching.

I’m here to help you navigate vulnerable periods of your life, to help you make sense of and understand your thoughts and feelings. You’ll learn lifelong, healthy coping skills to become more self-aware and resilient in the face of adversity. In the future, you’ll be a more emotionally capable version of yourself, with the tools to correct your behaviour when you sway off your chosen path.

My warm, compassionate and judgement-free approach provides you with a safe space for honest self-exploration. I encourage you to speak freely, with no pressure to be on your best behaviour. Sharing your inner most thoughts and feelings helps reveal your true self. By understanding the depth of what’s overwhelming you, I can equip you with appropriate skills and tools. Our time together will be more effective and align with the life you wish you to live, sooner.

My adult counselling philosophy

At the core of my adult counselling philosophy is the belief connection is the key to healthy coping. Connection with yourself through self-compassion and self-acceptance. Deep, healthy and respectful connection with others. Combined, these connect you to the life you truly want to live.

Our first counselling session

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and establish if we’re the right fit. You’ll get a feel for me and decide if you’re comfortable with my counselling approach. It’s also an opportunity for me to understand the challenges you’re facing and determine if my skills will help you transition to the life you want to lead.

You’re welcome to ask me any questions about my background, experience or therapies. I’m an open book.

My counselling credentials and experience

I’m an Australian Counselling Association registered Counsellor, with post graduate training in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

These techniques combined with gentle curiosity aim to raise your self-awareness and steer your life towards what’s true to you.

I’ve provided counselling services for people from all different backgrounds who are experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues. I make no assumptions about how people live their life.

If you need someone to talk to, I am here to listen and support you.
